Thanks to its design it also performs with very low noise and microphonics. Harmonically rich, with a detailed low end and a warm high end. Review: Last Chance Saloon for Little Bear - I bought this as a last chance for a secondhand Nobosound Little Bear G3 tube drive pedal which was proving to be somewhat troublesome and erratic in regard to volume. Having read that it was possible to change the stock 6N2 valve with an ECC83 / 12AX7 (which was supposed to help tame the grittiness of the gain from the 6N2) and suspecting that the tube was responsible for the issues I was experiencing with the pedal I thought I would give it a try. On fitting the new 12AX7 I found sound quality was markedly improved (still retaining the grit but giving it a more polished and smoother quality) and so far there has been no erratic behaviour from the Little Bear. It's early days but so far I am impressed. The item was ordered at 17:00 and delivered next day so the customer service from Spartan Music is excellent. The only quibble was that the valve could have been better packaged. Review: Solid replacement - Swapped for a dying tube in a Supro delta king. This can translate to louder but not always. In valve circuits and amps, high gain valves tend to distort earlier than lower gain tubes so using a high gain tube will tend to decrease the clean headroom before distortion occurs but will not always result in a louder amp. Would check fender forums. **Q: Would these work in the Duok audio mini valve amp?** A: I would recommend contacting the manufacturer. They seem to make several small valve preamps, using a variety of valves, but I couldn't see a code to match ECC83 (12AX7), so if it was me I wouldn't buy this without checking with the manfacturer.
