## Description

Ground-IT E provides a significant upgrade - not only by making your turntable sit centre stage in your hi-fi system - but also by improving the performance of your equipment. Made from a thick piece of MDF and finished in a stylish high-gloss piano lacquer, the Ground-IT E is designed to benefit a large range of turntables from the Pro-Ject range as well as other manufacturers. The base sits upon four spiked feet that are sandwiched between specially designed damping rings, to reduce resonance and create a decoupling solution between the turntable and any surface. The Ground-IT E can hold any moderate weight turntable with dimensions of less than 480 x 390 mm (W x D) and also accommodates the Cover-IT E and Cover-IT RPM 1/3 Carbon from the Pro-Ject range.

Review: Highly recommended. Isolates the turntable from vibrations through wooden floor and improves bass and clarity of music. - I ordered this support as although my turntable is mounted on a Target HiFi stand, that sits on a wooden floor. When putting a record on the deck and walking away, footsteps clearly could be heard through the speakers. I didn’t want to mount a shelf to the wall and having read a range of discussions on various forums, Hi Fi News etc., decided to give this a go. I was somewhat skeptical it would make a massive difference and wondered if the cost would be justified. The support arrived yesterday and was heavier than I had expected and really well finished matching my Pro-Ject turntable. Having installed it (which takes nothing other than putting it on the support shelf and putting the turntable on top) the effect was immediate: it seems to completely isolate the turntable from the floor. What I hadn’t expected was that it changed the quality of the sound coming out of the entire system: suddenly the low end of the music became tidied up and individual bass notes were far easier to make out. That also added clarity to the higher frequencies as it removed the muddiness at the bottom end. Having worried that over a hundred pounds for a slab to put under the turntable might be a waste of money, it turns out to have been one of the best value Hi Fi purchases I’ve made in years. Highly recommended.
Review: It's a "sort of thing" - Way back in the early 70s my Father had a Bang & Olufsen amplifier with a turntable, or as he always called it, "a gramaphone" precariously balanced and wobbling on the top. When he proudly demonstrated his HiFi to our next door neighbour he commented that the turntable needs to sit on a sort of thing to make sure it was stable and promptly made a platform fashioned out of wood to do just such a thing. Fast forward to the here and now and I also own a turntable which sits on top of my HiFi separates. Cosmetically it just looks wrong and so I started to search the internet for my own sort of thing. Many of my searches returned floating shelves which involved screwing something to the wall which I didn't want to do, and then finally I came across the Pro-Ject Audio Systems PGITE Ground-IT E Hi-Fi Support Platform. Cosmetically it's stunning with its gloss finish and it's a nice heavy weight. There's no installation. Simply place the platform and rest the turntable on top and that's it. No fuss, No screwing. No instructions necessary. I've given it a test drive and the first thing I've noticed is that there's no annoying rumble that I used to hear when playing a record. The sound does sound beefier for want of a better word. It does exactly what it says on the tin and it was well worth the £110 investment.

**Q: Would it hold a technics SL 1500c turntable**
A: This isn’t the turntable I have but I am almost 100% certain that the Pro-Ject platform will hold it no problem whatsoever.

**Q: Can you get this in different colours?**
A: Don’t think so.

**Q: Would this work with an LP12?**
A: It should do, I have a linn axis I think their the same size.

**Q: Are the isolation feet fixed into position, if so how far are they from the corners ?**
A: Yes, they are fixed in terms of location as they are adjustable in height to ensure a level platform for the turntable. The feet are around 5cm inboard from the platform edges.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Quality Product
*by H***S on 19 April 2024*

Bought this following an online audiophile review and customer reviews on Amazon. This is a superbly constructed support with its piano gloss finish and height adjustment feet and well worth the money. Can’t realistically comment on contribution to sound as my Rega 6/phono amp are still ‘burning in’, but it supports the turntable as described.
