Pure Encapsulations grapefruit seed extract is tested for the usual panel, including identity, potency, solvent residues, pesticide residues, heavy metals and microbial contaminants. Additionally, independent laboratory testing confirms that antimicrobial contaminants, including triclosan, benzethonium chloride and a range of quaternary ammonium disinfectants, are undetectable.

A: Grapefruit seed extract is derived from the fruit and seed and is standardized to contain 40% flavones and flavonones per capsule.

I bought this to take leading up to a trip to Mexico as I learned it could help protect from diarrhea causing bacteria that is common to pick up while traveling in countries that you are not accustomed to. We had a great trip with no GI distress :) What I really love about this brand is that they don't use any fillers.
