With kids in the house it's a great alternative to hiding keys under rocks. Since our kids are all iPad users they are also fully comfortable with using their fingerprints to access stuff. Win/win. As someone else mentioned in a review, I received a lock that had a flaw in the mounting plate. I had to drill a slot bigger to allow the cable to pass through. Not a big deal but this thing would literally be a 25 minute project were it not for that issue. It's a bit of a bummer to have to butcher up a brand new unit but there's no way I was going to wait for them to send a new plate. Done and done. I see there are versions of this lock that are keypad only, this version I would avoid. Waking up the keypad is not consistent. It takes some gymnastics of the hand to get the thing to come alive. The fingerprint scanner, on the other hand, is flawless. Touch and open - all set. A great lock from a reputable brand name with just a couple flaws.
