I only have a small shed but the splitter will stand vertically, saving space. My only disappointment is I wished I had bought it years ago! The splitter does include a guard requiring installation. My neighbour asked if he could try splitting some old eucalyptus logs which the axe wouldn’t split. The logs split with ease. I would recommend this to anyone who uses log, even if you buy kiln dry logs because some are very wide, too big for the log burner. We never bothered using the frame as you need a degree in rocket science to put it together! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazing piece of kit *by A***R on 25 November 2025* Absolutely Brilliant 👍 I used the wood splitter 4 the 1st time today, Amazing piece of kit. Cut through the tree stumps I was given with ease !!!! But ??? I didn't fit the guards 😔 as they restrict you movement of the stumps as they were quite large and not round ???? Just make sure that your wood stumps or logs are secure and stable when placed and sitting in the well part ! And not moving about, then when you start your splitter make sure when the point bit Start to push into the log of stump it doesn't start to move or ride up ??? If it does just stop the process, replace the wood , and start again, because most of my stumps were really awkward pieces, I had to replace the several times, but it only takes a mo ! If you don't stop the process if the stump or wood is not secure it will jump up or out of the guides / well base etc ! Also you must wear the appropriate PPE, safety goggles n gloves.
