First, using a makeup remover like cliniques, take the day off, then pat skin with a towel, and use face lotion cleanserβ€”a very gentle product recommended for sensitive skin. **Q: will this cleanser sting the eyes?** A: Gosh... I don't really know! I don't think I've ever gotten it in my eyes. It's a light weight creamy soft lotion. I really like it! It's one of the only face washes that doesn't make my face sting. It's really lovely. **Q: Is this product replacing the neutrogena lotion makeup remover?** A: I've never used the Hydrating Face Lotion & Makeup Remover. I use Clinique Take the Day Off to miraculously remove face make up and mascara... Then I use the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gentle Cleansing & Hydrating Face Lotion to remove everything else. Really strived to do the natural thing. However skin aging is a reality. And my usual soaps where drying out my skin. The face washes I tried gave me rashes and pimples. Someone suggested this neutrogena product. Now I was using one of neutrogena other faces washes for years until irritation started. This product is great. Glides on, washes gently and rinses off well. I’ve been using it for about 1 month, once a day. Skin feels normal. No rash, no pimples and no oily sensation. I get a squeak which tells me everything is removed. I know some of the reviewers are saying they have to double cleanse because this doesn't remove sunscreen, water proof makeup, eye makeup etc. but it does for me no problem. I love this cleanser because then I can put on my actives and makeup on right afterwards and nothing burns and I have sensitive skin. Recommended to me by my Dermatologist friend (I'm not her patient) because I was using an aha exfoliating cleanser and it destroyed my skin barrier. Derm friend said if it doesn't remove everything for me to get that Bioderma cleanser for a first cleanse but I don't need it and I just use this at night and rinse my face with distilled water in the am like a famous Derm said to do on You Tube.
