We do not recommend using rubber backed rugs and runners on carpeted floors as they will not hold well and will make the surface bulky and not secure to walk on especially on stairs. **Q: Can you machine wash this?** A: We DO NOT recommend machine washing our rubber back rugs because the pressure and heat may damage the rubber backing. Our rugs are made of polypropylene material which is naturally stain-resistant. You can easily wipe any dirt or spills with a damp washing cloth and a little mild detergent if needed. **Q: This is a question for the seller.
