I think the universe new because they look amazing on my black Explorer. The red just looks like typical tail light accent.The only downside was That the lights were incompatible with my 2012 Ford Explorer Limited. I had to buy new wiring going to the lights and tear my SUV apart to install the wiring.So, if you own a later 2012 Explorer, be prepared for this. Apparently Ford only changed the wiring in these Explorers. 2011-early 2012, 2013 etc. are fine... just late year 2012s, lol.Whatevs, after all is said and done, the look amazing.
