It's useful for blending soup, beverages, or other items and then putting the lid on it for storage. No transfer of containers is necessary. The shape is designed for an immersion blender and facilitates better blending action and minimal splash out. It's nothing fancy, but it's just what I needed for it's intended use. I purchased two of them. They're a bit pricey but I don't expect to need to buy any more.
