And now, over a quarter-century later, I don’t even understand what’s going on anymore, and the plotlines seem to be getting more and more outlandish. In the midst of all that, I saw a few panels from this series and they caught my eye, and so I picked this up when it was released. It turns out that some origin material that would’ve helped put everything into context was not included in this collection, but nevertheless, I got the basic idea: an evil alternate-universe Reed Richards is tinkering with the world of the universe that these stories are set in (whatever universe that may be) and various parties are trying to stop him. I just just treated it as an alternate-universe story, and as such I enjoyed it. There were a lot of interesting ideas, and dialogue to match. The artwork was generally excellent as well. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An engaging storyline. *by B***T on May 1, 2025* Often, when I read these collections, I find myself at some point just wanting to hurry up and get to a stopping point so I can go do something else for a while until I wake up enough to finish the story. Not with Ultimate Invasion (2023). This story engaged me right from the beginning and kept my interest from page one until the last page. The ending was unexpected, yet set expectations for continuation of the story in future offshoot titles.
