You can tell the ABS plastic is hard and can withstand a lot of pressure. The straps are perfectly thick as well. So this helps with the strap not twisting on the inside of the handles - which is annoying because when this happens, it eventually cuts through the handles and breaks it at the round edges (trust me, I used the Bowflex provided handles with my machine and they cut through the handles because of the straps twisting). I can tell the strap material is high grade nylon. It just feels strong as I'm doing my presses and pulls. The round rings are cool too because I just hook it and go at it. I don't have to worry about the "D-ring" sliding out of position like they always do. Very happy with this purchase & look forward to my workouts now! They're a bit larger than I expected, but it's not a bad thing. I use them exclusively for my body weight, but they're sturdy and would do just fine if I used them for more. Yoga straps suspend them from a chin-up bar for doing dips--significantly more challenging than the edge of the coffee table, and not merely because that has my heels on the floor.
