There is nothing little about their sound though. These elegantly designed earphones have a big warm sound. If you are seeking a precise and accurate presentation of the highest resolution recordings of jazz or classical these ain't your earphones. If you want a warm, inviting and soothing sound these may be for you. I have many headphones to choose from and I may use the same one for a while but on many days I find myself using the e3000 because its so pleasant and easy going. An odd thing about them is that they seem to sound better the longer you have them. They also have a reputation for being bass cannons and it is well deserved. With lively electronic music like that by deadmau5, the bass hits very hard but, it isn't a bloated glob of gross bass, it has a punchy slam to it. If you like some definition to your bass these are a more refined way to get your hit. They fit a little bit different from others due to their size. You insert them into your ear canals without force until you feel resistance. The ear tip holds the steel housing in place and the housing sticks out from it and can pivot like a joystick, you can move it about quite freely. This is by design, as long as the tip is seated it doesn't matter what angle the housing is at. Final call this their swing fit design. I have used Comply foam tips for a brief time which are effective to get a good ear seal and even more secure fit but have the effect of making the bass less defined and a little unpleasant. Foam tips can be great to tame screechy earphones but aren't ideal with those that sound warm already. The tips made and supplied by Final are among the best available and would cost about $20 to buy on their own. I've tried a few different tips of similar price just out of interest and none were as effective. They work just fine played on a phone headphone socket. I use a small DAC/amp or dongle out of habit and the power can add a little extra to some music but it isn't essential. Review: Great product, great sound quality for the price - As you may see in the photo, I've not used the stock tips, they were a little too small for my ears, so I've used the large Spinfit cp145 on the E3000, which I use with most of my IEM's as well, they provide a better seal, which gives me the full sound of the E3000, which is quite detailed.. They have pretty good details, bass is pretty tight and punchy, treble extension is good too. Mids are pretty okay, overall a pretty good sounding, pretty detailed little bullet style in ear.. They are pretty small, light and comfortable.. I would have no issues listening to these for hours πŸ‘Œ A level of detail I would expect from Final, at an entry level price.. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Best headphone around $50 range, and overall BETTER than the cheaper E2000... *by A***. on 12 May 2018* This is probably the best earphones at the $50 range you can buy for HiFi sound. I was planning to buy this per some audiophile good reviews, however, then I saw some YouTube videos and some reviews here on Amazon preferring the cheaper E2000, So, I bought them both and tried them for 2-3 weeks to see which is better. E3000 is made out of stainless steel and it feels and look great, it has more heft and more premium feel to it. E2000 is Aluminium and while still very very high quality for the price range, cannot match the E3000 feel. The rest of the package is identical, the wires, accessories in the box, etc... It comes with additional ear pieces in different sizes but I found the installed ones to be comfortable so I didn't try any of the others. Speaking of which, the rubber ear pieces are quite comfortable for long listening and fit and stayed in my ear with no issues. E3000 vs. E2000 I can say that 100% if you're more of an audiophile, prefer a flatter sound, like a bit higher quality material, the E3000 is a better earphone. The E2000 is also a fantastic headphone, BUT it was too bright for my liking, and TIRING for longer listening... it definitely lacked bass and generally I think works better for more techno, electronic music, while E3000 works for Jazz, Blues, etc... (Audiophile music). For comparison, I listened to them on my desktop with an external DAC, AND on my iPhone listening to lossless Tidal music. I compared on Rock, Jazz, Blues, and some pop and electronic music and found that E2000 had a "higher" treble that to me sounded a bit harsh and too much attenuated, and I actually had to LOWER the volume on my iPhone for it to be comfortable to listen to, while on E3000, I could go to Max volume and it sounded great. I attribute this to some boost at higher frequencies on E2000 which makes it bright and harsh at higher volumes and definitely NOT an Audiophile quality. Compared to Sony EX650AP Now, in comparison to my other top earphones, Sony EX650AP (I bought from Japan) for around $100. They are not as of a great tight fit (Sony is the best I've ever had), and Sony build quality a tad better, and their wires a bit higher quality. BUT, the sound on E3000 is simply more revealing, flatter, and more audiophile. Also, one main reason I bought these, was to see if they fit with iPhone battery pack, and they do! So, at the end, I returned the E2000 and kept E3000. You can't really go wrong with either, but it kinda depends what do you prefer. Crisp, brighter sounding or flatter, more bottom end? Either case, GREAT VALUE for these Japanese earphones. Highly recommended!
