## Description

4U rackmount server chassis with 3 front 5.25 bays with ATX/mATX/Mini-itx support

Review: Strong Rack Server Case with Tons of Drive Slots. - Overall, I am happy with this server case, but there are a few things you should know if you plan to order it. The most noticeable thing is that the connectors for the hard drive LED and the power LED are reversed so the power led is labeled as HDD LED and vis-versa. Other reviewers have pointed this out as well. It may not be every case, but it’s happened more than once. The wiring +/- on both plugs are also reversed. You could spend time extracting the pins and putting them in the correct connectors and the correct polarity or you can just note the incorrect labeling and install them as needed. Next I would comment, the case top-cover screws are very short and very tiny so use caution not to cross thread or over-tighten. Lastly, I found the cross bar does add structure. Without the crossbar the case can shift out-of-square a little misaligning the mounting holes for the drive bays, so I suggest leaving it on as much as possible. Especially if moving it. The one fan in the case uses a standard hard drive plug so you will probably want to replace it with a 3 or 4 pin proper case fan. I know I did. For the motherboard stand-offs, there should be 8 matching the ATX form factor. This case has all 8 but for some odd reason one was too short. Luckily a brass stand-off added on top of the shorty made it the perfect height matching the others ( Measured with a micrometer, it landed in perfect height with the other 7.) Now for the good news. The case is very heavy and strong. The rack mounting holes lined up perfectly for me. You need rails or a shelf to put it on. It is that heavy. I happen to have a slide-out flat rack-shelf already in place. I set it on the shelf, slid it in and it all lined up perfectly. The 7 HDD bay is one of the main reasons I chose this case and it’s working well for me. The 7-drive cage is pretty close tolerance. If you need 2.5” adapter, I can tell you this one worked from Mougerk Store (sold here on desertcart). The Cable-Matters adapter was too tight in the cage so not usable in this case. The 3.5” spinning drives all fit like a glove and no issues. For a CPU cooler you need one that’s no more than 6 inches tall. Side CPU Cooler fan is best. I used this one: Dynatron Q11P Cooler for Intel 4U Server. sold here on desertcart (see photo). I removed all the factory break-away slot covers and that was very easy to do. I’ve heard some cases are difficult. ** Do it BEFORE you put your motherboard in. I installed screw-on slot covers made by Rimoev sold here on desertcart. This was done fore future proofing so if/when I add an another expansion card, it will be very easy.
Review: SOLID build and quite good - I got this to replace my PC case, Everything fit like a glove. Some points to consider: Cons: - It only holds up to 2x 2.5'' SATA drives - There's not obvious points for fan mounting - You need to buy 2x60mm fans for the back of the case to move air out of the case. - Front fan isn't loud but it also isn't very powerful - Front handles are too large (Can't close doors on rack) Pros: - Large format GPUs will fit - Front USB ports seem to have been upgraded to 3.1 - Full ATX PSU fits with ample space

## Questions & Answers

**Q: What is the maximum CPU coolerr height?**
A: TLDR; it has surprisingly little air cooling capacity/space for such a large chassis.

If you have a large cooler, it likely won't work. I used this as a chassis for a Blue Iris station for the cameras for my business. Originally my plan was to air cool, but I found that anything with enough capacity to cool a 12900 was going to be way too big. I ended up having to plasma cut holes in one side to mount a side 360 radiator and two on the other for additional exhaust, because I am stubborn. On the bright side, even after having removed that much material, it is still built like a tank, but I found that by the time I modified the case to fit my needs, I spent enough time to have purchased something more inline with my needs. There won't be enough fresh air to keep your components cool with 2 120s on the front and 2 40's on the back.

**Q: Which rails do you use for this case?**
A: we have 2 type for 4U chassis,
18" rail: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BVF945MK?ref=myi_title_dp
26" rail https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BM7BXXLR?ref=myi_title_dp

**Q: What is the depth from the front panel to the rear panel? I see 18.9/19" but I'd assume that includes the handles**
A: it is 450mm not include handles, 505mm inlcude the handles,

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great case, whish it had rails!
*by C***T on 15 June 2024*

Bought this case to replace a tower case that was sitting in my wall mount rack awkwardly taking up space. Initial impressions are the build quality better than expected, the sheet metal is fairly thick and sturdy. The case was easy to work in with ATX MOBO and PSU as well as 8 HDDs on the rail. A few downsides, USB is only 2.0, the pre-installed fan is fairly noisey but just tossed in a noctua 120mm I had. Also, disappointed that Rackchoice doesn't sell a rail kit for this case (At least can't find one). All and all, this 4u rack mount case is something I've wanted for awhile, and I'm happy I finally got it!
