They are about a quarter inch long and extremely thin, and they're transparent so you can't really see them unless you shine a light on them and look for the reflection. I tried to clean them off before installation, but I didn't get all of them. After a week, I noticed that the entire room had these plastic shards scattered around, as fans blew them off the shelves and shoes tracked them around the room. At night if you shine your phone flashlight around them room you could see them everywhere from the reflection. I had to vacuum everything in the room very thoroughly to get rid of them all. I don't know what they are or what health effects they might have, but it's very strange. I recommend carefully vacuuming these as soon as you open the box. Or just buy a different product.However, installation is quick and they look nice, so I'll give 2 stars instead of 1. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Super easy to assemble. These are easy as heck to assemble, but please take note; the legs *SCREW* into the top of the table! It looked to me like they were supposed to push in, but to credit the sturdy nature of the table, the legs didn't bend or break even after tanking my full weight pushing down and several blows with a hammer. I figured it out eventually; everyone has an off day.The tables look good! Wish they didn't bother with the numbered stickers since assembly is pretty obvious, but then again I tried to piledrive the legs into the table, so maybe labelling is warranted.
