The only thing you're going to be cutting with that sword is cake. Besides, "carbon steel" is nondescript, like getting a plate of mystery meat. Again, at that price point don't get your hopes up. If you want something nonfunctional to wear on special occasions or put on the wall, it will suffice. **Q: This saber is not sharp and not restricted for mailing. Right?** A: I've ordered a few of these from various sellers via Amazon. Most come dull. This one, however, came with a sharpened edge. Not sure about any mailing restrictions. **Q: Are the blade and scabbard engravable?** A: I believe so, but I do remember the blade being very soft. The scabbard is much harder and probably will engrave much nicer than the sword. **Q: can this sword be used during a wedding to cut the cake?** A: Cutting a Cake of Multiple Layers the length of sword should present no problems . It is well constructed , the blade is solid and has plenty of heft . My sheath works but in tight in one spot. It was covered in enough oil to make even Diddy blush to be aware.
