It bridges e-arc even to systems as close sourced as Bose lifestyles. - Ok, here is my 2 cents. I have a Bose V35 system and I really enjoy it. I know that out of all the home theater systems Bose is the not an open source and improvements and updates are not available pr rare. It's a damn time capsule, one I payed good money for and unless it dies on me, its staying where it is. With an optical cable to my TV my 5.1 experience was just OK. This seemed like a good affordable gamble on improving my listening experience accessing e-arc. Nothing else seemed possible. To my surprise my center & surround speakers have improved and make my viewing more emmersive. Downside, to now access my V35 console I have to disconnect the box and return to optical mode. I know the Bose limitations and a regular AV perhaps would make it easier. All I wanted was better sound and I got it. I'm not upgrading my system so is is as good as it is going to get.
