Iv cancelled my broadband and using my friends internet over 0.2 miles away, there are buildings in in the path and still gets strong connection. I use 2 off these pointed at each other set above chimney’ and just above apex’s. The ground level is flat between. These pick up connect to other standard WiFi routers (if you have passcode) so if a friend lives in line of sight down the road you might be able to use just one off these. Aligning them point to point wasn’t to hard, they have a app and tell you when the signals strong by fractions of moment. Only down sides is the lan is 100Mbps (The beams WiFi is about 300Mbps), it’s a shame the lans not 1Gbps. Other thing is I have a PoE switch with a few power settings but still have to use the PoE injector provided. Other thing is this will pay for them selfs for me as my broadband was about £30 a month. In open country with direct line-of-sight and good alignment 30km. In a town or city with other signals, direct line of sight, 5-10km. Trees will stop the signal. Must be 'visible' **Q: Is this a matched pair of dishes or just one so need to buy a pair?** A: You just get the one, should be around £40-£50 or close. They're good! **Q: Say I put this in my shed and point it at my house which has wifi, what do need please keep it simple, is this it or i need something else ?** A: The antenna is powered using the PoE injector so you need electrical power for that. The antenna must be configured with a static IP address to get connected to the website so that you can configure the unit for operation with your wifi. This looks straight forward from the instruction manual but may not prove so in my experience. If you have problems I can help with the process if required. **Q: Hi I want to connect to my home wifi from an out building about 40 -50 meters away will this do the job and do i need any other items** A: This will easily do the job, maybe over kill depending what layout you have on the install. You possibly might get away with installing just one on the out building and pointing it to your home WiFi.
