They were really helpful initially, offering to ship a replacement out straightaway to any U.S location. However they didn't bother replying after i mentioned I'm in the U.K! 👎 **Q: how long does the filer last?** A: Indefinitely is you look after it by backwashing and sanitising properly. Oh and don’t let it freeze. **Q: Is it worth spending the extra money instead of buying the mini?** A: As said by others: worth the extra 20 or so quid for the vastly improved flow rate & ease of back-flush, although both filter down to 0.1 microns - so obv won't filter chemicals or heavy metals (may also need to supplement the squeezable pouches provided as well....) **Q: Would it be feasable to attach this to some form of a pump via threaded adapters?** A: You can get a connector to use it as a gravity filter. . . . ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazing *by K***A on 6 June 2026* Amazing, easy to use, lightweight, doesn’t leak ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent product *by M***C on 27 December 2025* excellent water filter and seems very robust ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent for treking *by P***S on 30 October 2023* Used this for a 3 week trek in Nepal last month. Very glad I chose this over the BeFree/alternative options in the end — it's extremely light to carry in a day pack (and comes with a light drawstring bag to carry the different bits and pieces), filters pretty fast, and most importantly should last a long time with proper care. Note that many other filter options need to be replaced after a certain amount of time, so theoretically this is the more sustainable option. Oh and I didn't get ill from a multitude of water sources — so the filter most likely did its job! In the UK you can find a few plastic bottles that pair with the Sawyer thread (search Reddit for this if needed). However, I found the plastic pouches that came with the filter to be much more convenient. These roll up flat and take up much less space than a water bottle would in your bag.
