It comes wound on a bobbin, and is not a full bobbin at that. I do repairs and alterations on garments and though I do a lot of work on firemen's coats in the gold color, I seldom need black Nomex thread. I had a customer from a racing team bring me an FR (fire retardant) garment that was black and in need of seam repair. It was great to be able to buy just enough for the job and not have to shell out 50 bucks or more for thread that I might never use again.
