## Description

Physical description; 149p. ilustr. ; 24 cm. Subjects Jackson, Michael - Poems - Reflections.

Review: Precious book - Such a beautiful and heartwarming book!!! Michael Jackson was an amazing person and, despite being extremely famous, he cared deeply for others and was humble. It's so precious to be able to read his own poems and things he wrote. His song "Heal the World" is in this book and it's so beautiful!
Review: excellent work - i LOVED this book of poems and reflections from michael jackson. i like to write poetry myself and so i can really appreciate and identify in that way here - i am also a very reflective thinker and so i really appreciate people who take the time to reflect and write down their thoughts. i love to write so i can relate to this form of communication well. this book really gives insight into the mind and thoughts of michael jackson in a way that is so unique that it is inspiring and very deep. i truly enjoyed reading this and being exposed to a side of mj that i didn't know before. the introduction says this : "i think michael is like litmus paper. he is always trying to learn. he is so intelligent that he is alarmingly bright. he is also very curious and wants to draw from people who have survived. people who have lasted. he is not really of this planet. he is filled with deep emotions that create an unearthly, special, innocent, childlike, wise man that is michael jackson. i think michael appeals to the child in all of us, and i think he has the quality of innocence that we would all like to obtain or to have kept." - elizabeth taylor i loved first of all how this book was dedicated to his mother. he has a poem called "mother" in the book - some of it says, "...you gave me joy and position, cared for me without condition, and if ever i change this world, it's from the emotions you've unfurl'd." what a neat poem! i'd love one of my kids to write to me that way one day! in one of his reflections, this one on God, he says, "for me the form God takes is not the most important thing. what's most important is the essence. my songs and dances are outlines for Him to come in and fill." and in another part, "i've looked up at the night sky and beheld the stars so intimately close, it was as if my grandmother had made them for me. 'how rich, how sumptuous,' i thought. in that moment i saw God in His creation." one quote that i extemely like of mj's in another one of his reflections is, "this world we live in is the dance of the creator." the cover flap sums it up well when it reads, "...this incredible, inspirational man who died as he lived - dancing his dream." i highly suggest this book for anyone to read - esp fans of mj who want to get a perspective of went on inside his head and how creative he could be in expressing that. awesome color photos in here too!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 'I keep on dancing and dancing...........and dancing, until there is only............the dance'. MICHAEL JACKSON.
*by N***N on December 31, 2015*

Michael Jackson was a genius, an incredible man of many talents, from artist, dancer, choreographer, composer, singer, writer, and poet, as he shows so commandingly in this beautiful hardback book. I have bought it (and read it several times) to donate it to libraries, schools and hospitals to spread the knowledge about this amazing man, who was also Dr.Jackson with an IQ of 160, apparently to rival that of Albert Einstein! He was awarded an honorary degree for his humanitarian efforts in 1988 from the Fisk University in New York. Not only was he good to look at, so were his mind's creations to read. This becomes instantly obvious from his deep spiritual philosophies in his forty-six essays and stories interspersed with over ninety such attractive photographs of him in action, and drawings. Many cleverly constructed phrases included are well known now which come from some of his song lyrics and poetry, like 'Heal the World', 'Planet Earth' and 'Will You Be There?' He wrote this in 1992 when he was only 34, yet bravely explored concepts like Trust, Innocence, Courage, Love and God. I particularly loved 'When Babies Smile', 'Ecstasy' and 'Quantum Leap' with his brilliant use of language and rhyme; also 'Magical Child', 'Once We Were There;, and 'Are You Listening?' which lift me up and take me to another place. One person who had a very high regard for him was the late famous Elizabeth Taylor who called him The King of Pop, Rock and Soul' in the Introduction.. The only criticisms I have are in the Introduction where a sentence is printed wrongly, split onto two lines, and a misprint in ''Magical Child' Part 2' where a line ends in the word 'play' when I think it should be 'ploy' to rhyme with 'destroy'. Otherwise the work is breathtakingly inspirational, a perfect possession for anyone, fan or not.
