Consequently, any time you need to pause, rewind, eject etc a film, you have to stand, point the remote at the player, and keep stabbing buttons until the player responds (it never works first time). It's a frustrating experience and often spoils enjoyment of the film. To fix the problem, I'd initially tried to buy a new Blu-Ray player that has a wireless remote, rather than an IR remote - like all our other AV devices we have in the room - but it appears such a player does not exist, at any price. It seems the only remedy is an IR relay.The Cable Matters Infrared Remote Extender Cable was quickly installed and worked straight away. After a bit of experimentation (hint - tape the receiver and emitter in position with masking tape at first to find the most effective location, before using the attached adhesive to fix them permanently in position).The receiver is sensitive enough for you not to need a clear line of sight for it to respond, the devices are small enough that you barely notice them and it works first time, every time.
