Review: Mirror Finish Turntable - Long story short, I purchased a turntable a long while back and the owner didn't secure it in the packaging. While the turntable was still functional, many small parts were loose and scratched the acrylic surface. A very small amount of the NOVUS fine scratch #2 cleaned it up really nice. Did two passes and got very good results. For the final step I used MusicNomad MN130 as a polish and a wax and the results were just amazing. Could probably do one or two more passes but decided to leave good enough alone...was really worried I might make it worse but you can see the results before and after.
Review: A good Polish not just a filler - Great polish for fine scratches. I have used it on headlight covers (typically poly-carbonate), ABS, Clear PVC and it has done well on all of them. The depth of your scratches is what determines how course a polish you use. I start with a finer polish and if it doesn’t do the job then use a courser polish. Novus has a number 3 (courser polish). You always have to use the finer polish after the courser polish so you have to use the 2 polish again, but it is an easier means of telling which will work. I would be hesitant to use this on a touch screen as there can be invisible circuitry (indium tin oxide) very close to the surface and what the material is. Unless you know and understand the tech then usually best not to mess with it. Heating trinitrotoluene on the stove would be bad if you don’t know what you’re doing. It’s TNT. It does seem to leave some coating on the surface but it is NOT like many of the ‘wipe on fill type’ product to improve clarity that don’t last.. If you don’t have to rub it (or shake the bottle) then it isn’t really a polish. And while it might take a bit longer than the chemical melting wipe on type, you have much more control and less chance of messing up the surface. At worst (unless you go too fast and melt the plastic) you will end up with a clear depression in the material. I would like it to last a little longer before drying but in the hot Texas sun everything probably drys faster. After talking with the manufacturer they say that water can be used to wet the surface as long as you don’t dilute the polishing compound. This drill brush worked well https://www.desertcart.com/gp/product/B003VIGPG6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Although these might work better as they don’t expose the polish to air as much and so it might last longer as liquid. I am polishing the inside of cylinders so needed something round instead of disk. For just headlights I would try these. https://www.desertcart.com/Foam-Drill-Polishing-Inch-Buffing/dp/B076ZJMHB1/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1537911177&sr=8-3&keywords=foam+polishing+pad+for+drill

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Will this remove fine scratches on my glasses?**
A: This is a mild abrasive, it does not "fill in" scratches, it removes the material around the scratches and polishes. A lot of plastic lenses have been "coated" to make them scratch-resistant, and this will remove the coating. If your only other choice is to replace the lenses anyway, you could give it a try.

**Q: Does it remove the stickiness that develops on 'sueded' plastic coatings? I have an expensive lamp & sev'l thumb drives that are too sticky to touch.**
A: No, that is not what it is designed to do. The sticky coating on your item is a natural process of the soft suede (as you put it) material applied to the surface. It gradually breaks down and becomes the sticky mess you now have. The breakdown usually occurs after about five years, but will occur sooner if the product is exposed to excess heat. The only known way to completely solve the issue is to use a mild solvent that will remove the surface coating completely. However, any labels, patterns or printing on the item will also be removed. You can reduce the stickiness by applying baby powder or corn starch to the surface and gently rubbing it in. Unfortunately it may detract from the appearance of the item, but the stickiness will be gone.

**Q: There are mixed reviews on fixing CDs. Does it work just putting on and wiping off?**
A: Hey. You’ll need to put a few big drops on the CD and then buff it into the surface. You may have to repeat the process a few times. I use a a small car wash towel to apply and a terry type microfiber towel to polish off. I then use a second microfiber towel to do a final wipe down. The CD is headed to my computer to be ripped and I don’t want any problems.

I use Exact Audio Copy and convert to FLAC. The program will tell me if any errors remain after the rip and conversion. If they do, I can usually fix them with Cue Tools. The optical drive in my computer is real touchy about scratches. If the CD is surface is still causing errors, I will repeat the process above using more solution and wiping a little moe vigorously than I had before. I don’t need the CD surface to look new. I need it clear enough to rip without errors I can’t fix.

I hope this helps.

**Q: Has anyone tried this on an Apple Watch face?**
A: No. Is it a polymer or glass?

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works okay.

The Novus 7030 Fine Scratch Remover #2 is a reliable go-to for polishing out light surface scratches on plastics and acrylics. I used it on a motorcycle windshield and a few old gaming console covers, and it noticeably improved clarity and reduced visible wear. The formula is easy to apply and buffs out cleanly without leaving residue. The 2-pack of 8-ounce bottles is generous and should last a long time, even with frequent use. My only minor gripe is that deeper scratches require multiple applications and still may not fully disappear—but that’s expected for a fine-grade polish. Overall, it’s a solid product that delivers on its promise.
