However, it felt too rushed, the set up was there for a brilliant story but it just didn't deliver, I'm sad about this.I also felt that only having one chapter from Asher's point of view was a mistake, the story could have flowed much better and explanations could have been offered for reasons of behaviour and plot development with both points of views.If this was developed a bit more I would happily review this again. ### ⭐⭐⭐ The ending was a bit rushed. *by M***Y on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 18 November 2017* I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.Punitive Damages starts from Asher's point of view, before changing to Cora's. Asher is a hot-shot lawyer, known for winning high-profile criminal defense cases. Cora's uncle is one of the partners of the firm Asher works for, and as such, he organises for Cora to intern for the summer with Asher. The weekend before her internship begins, she bumps into Asher at a local bar, and they share a kiss. The sexual tension between them ratchets up during her first day, leading to sexual exploits in his office after work.This book started off quite promisingly, however the ending came about so quickly, it felt as if the author no longer wished to continue with the story. It also left several threads hanging, such as the outcome of the trial they were involved in, what happened to the defendant, and what happened to those truly responsible. It also left quite a lot unsaid regarding Asher and Cora. As promising as this book started out, the ending really let it down. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ From Womaniser To A One Woman Man? *by M***3 on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 31 October 2017* I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Cora's uncle gets her an internship for the summer at his law firm and places her under the "care" of Asher who is a womaniser playboy. I have read all five of Charlotte Byrd's series and enjoy her writing style. It is obvious that she has done considerable research as to how the laws system works in the USA. I found it rather difficult to like Asher as it just didn't work for me him changing basically overnight from a different woman every 24 hours to one forever. I think if we had been given more chances of "hearing" his POV might have helped. Still a very good book!RECOMMENDED!!!
