Review: Great Instrument - Well it like this ... I play the flute and fancied a low D whistle If you think you can just pick it up a go with no problems ..... thats not true It sounds warm and rich and the tone is even and easily tuned for band work which is my purpose Not an instrument for those with small hands as my wife and daughter cannot cover the holes at all Oh yes and learing a new way to play anything is indeed driving them nuts at home..... but I love it
Review: packaging?? - Apologies for delay in reply...I thought I had posted one already.. This whistle turned up in a huge box app.28 ins long, 20 ins wide and 6 ins deep. That would have been ok if whistle was safely placed in the middle of the brown paper packaging used to pack the box out ... it was placed (in it's case) on top of the packaging with just the sealed cardboard box lid for protection, fortunately it survived the journey.. I'm have no experience in Low whistles so I can't compare it to others, all I can say is, it suits me fine as my first Low D. Thankyou.

**Q: Is this tunable?**
A: Please note that this Amazon listing is for the Dixon model TB012D.
So YES, it IS tunable.  That's why it has the wider neck portion towards the mouthpiece, so it can be slid back and forth.
It's the Dixon model TB003D that is the non-tunable model.

**Q: Is this an original Tony Dixon Music whistle ???**
A: It is plastic, made for Tony Dixon Music. Has good tone and for the price very reasonable.

A: Im not sure exactly what you're asking. This product has a removable head which makes it tunable, not all are made that way. I chose this one for that reason as well as a more mellow sound when compared with a metallic whistle.

**Q: This is a real Tony Dixon low D whistle right?**
A: I believe it is. It's plastic, but I got it to learn on it without investing a ton of money. I've been able to get a surprisingly good tone out of it. I'm a former flute player and the sound is as good as my silver flute in my opinion.

Well it like this ... Bought this as a present for my wife, she's very happy with it. The fact that it's tuneable means she can adjust it when atmospheric conditions change (i.e. temperature). Great for a travelling musician.
