I now own two of them: One for my olives and one for my petite sweet pickles that I have a constant craving for (I try to eat them instead of candy, helps give me the sweet taste I am looking for and aren't as bad for me as candy). I love that they can stay in their juices to stay fresh and when I'm ready to eat some, I turn it over and all the juice drain into the small liquid containment area - my treats are easy to grab and I don't have all the sticky juice to contend with. The jar opening is large enough for me to get my fingers in, so I don't even need a fork or spoon to grab my treat and my fingers don't get sticky. I like that the strainer comes out, so I can easily wash everything. I only have two compaints, but they do not take away from the 5 stars for me because they are more a "me-issue" than a design issue. Negatives for me: 1) The large opening that I love requires a large lid to cover it. I have small hands, so sometimes I fight to get the lid open because my hands barely fit all the way around the lid and because you don't want it to leak, you make sure to scew the lid on snugly, so there are times that I cuss while opening the jar. 2) I appreciate the fact that glass/purex is cleaner, doesn't hold smells, is see-through and won't haze or discolor over time, but at the same time, I am terrified that my clumsy self is going to drop one of these, it's going to shatter on my tile floor, and I will have a sticky, dangerous mess at my feet and all over my kitchen. Again, this is a me-issue, not a design issue. Putting those two matter aside, I love this product and will be buying a third one to put my dill pickles in - I don't eat them as much, but want to keep them all in the same uniform container to make things easier and aesthetically pleasing for my OCD. :o) To me, the quality of the item and functionality made the price within what I would consider agreeable.
