I wanted to be able to store them so we could have easy access but not lie them on top of each other to get scratched. My husband was easily able to put it together. We have been able to store our pots and pans easily. However, it isn't 100% sturdy. The pots, when they have the lid on them, are hard to get out. I think this is better used with the pot lids not on them.
