This model is used on Sewing Bee and is great machine to use, very quiet and easy to get to grips with. It has an automatic buttonhole function, overcast stitch for seams and many other functions. Auto needle threader and a presser foot which can be adjusted for applique. Top loading style bobbin with horizontal reel holder which is sadly flimsy plastic. Janome is a Japanese brand and they do not provide the 2 year warranty, this is held by the seller. I do lots of dressmaking, charity sewing e.g. toilet bags, baby sheets, lavender bags and more recently face masks. I absolutely love this machine, so much more sophisticated than the old 1560. I highly recommend this machine, you will not be disappointed. Review: Love it! - Don’t set me off! I’m a total newbie to sewing so was quite apprehensive about even taking the machine out of the box. Three weeks in I’m a total addict, and this machine couldn’t be easier to use. The instruction manual is straight forward and much quieter than I recall my mother’s being many moons ago. There was a 525S, the 725S is the updated version. The differences are the 525S has a conventional bulb light and a switchable 2 speed foot control Hi/Lo. Lovely to work with. I did a bit of research before I bought this one, and it paid off. I use the machine for dressmaking, curtains and alterations. It is quite heavy but you don’t get any vibration which alters the tension, thankfully.
