**Q: Is this OK to use on a wooden fire place where I have hung Christmas decorations**
A: If its varnished id try it on a hidden bit first. ive used it on clear varnished wooden doors but id try it first to be sure :)

A: it is possible that the rubber of the case has deteriated and this can't just be removed
