A fairly good updater/refresher *by M***U on 13 December 2024* The "Effective-" books are often aimed at people already knowing a language, who want to get a better understanding of the good code practices and performance optimizations. I felt disappointed that this book is not about that. Effective-C is a concise and well-written introduction to the language basics, describing the most common language constructions and libraries. If you want to learn programming. This book is not for you, the same way you won't learn English just by reading a dictionary. If you want to learn C, this book might be for you if you haven't seen a line of C in your life. That was not my case.
