The colour is gorgeous and it made my buttercream go from yellow to white after adding a few drops so I still have a lot of the product left. Truly recommended. I still need to try it and check if I could get other results if I want to make any kind of batter or food in a stronger or darker purple colour. Price is really good too. But be careful how much you use, it is very concentrated so start with only a few drops and add more if required. Hope this helps. **Q: Is this an oil based product?** A: No, this product is water based **Q: Is this vegan? Thanks** A: Carmine, which also goes by the names Crimson Lake, Cochineal, Carminic Acid, and Natural Red #4, a is a red dye derived from tiny red parasitic scale insects, so from that point ..NO. It is not vegan as it states Cochineal on the label. Your best bet is to do a search for Vegan food colouring, or write to the seller and ask,. Hope that helps. Violet will contain some sort of red to make it that colour. **Q: Is this ok to colour soap** A: Whilst I'm sure it would be fine to use for this purpose, it has not been tested for this use so can not say to use it to colour soap, sorry. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great results to make yello buttercream go really pale and white *by C***A on 23 November 2025* I bought this to make my buttercreams look paler and as white as possible.
