They are soft and squishy, but it does have limited compression. I was able to wear more than 6 hours the first day without feeling pain. They are easy to use. I then used them in my hiking boots with socks on. That also worked as there was enough space in the toe box. Then I tried them in formal shoes. It was super tight. I backed off. I have been using them regularly for a week in flip-flops and Keen hiking sandals. I have noticed that the spacer at small toe seems to bulge and push out the little toe. Overall, the toe spacer does work as intended. It spans 3 toes. It might take time and practice to get used to it. It would be nicer if the end tail/flap was thinner, and the same applies spacer at small toe. The silicone material is easy to wash. I like having several so that I have a fresh set to use. I like the design but it could use some improvement. I will continue to wear this at home when I am able to use open-toe shoes. Good quality and durability.
