These type of rifles (and some ARs with very high mounted scopes) are very deep top to bottom making it difficult to use a typical rack in a gun safe or locker. The sights hit the back wall (or rifles racked behind) before the barrel can nestle in the cradle.I use this on the sides of the safe and they create a large enough standoff to allow my 10 meter gun to be racked. I can leave my butt plate in the full down position and it still works, so I can just pull it from the safe and go straight to practice without messing around.The magnet is not super strong as some have stated, but for its designed use this is not a problem. You put it in the corner of the safe and leave it there. It stays fine.
