Review: Absolutely brilliant sound without a DAC - OMG I had a FFio DM13 before this and I thought that was good…but that needed a dac to make it sound brilliant…this doesn’t . It just sound gorgeous just plugged into my headphones which are B+W Ps7 s2 which in my opinion with the cable attached are the perfect partner to this cd player. It actually puts the FFio player to shame as that needed my chord mojo 2 dac to make it sound really good. . Well done Moondrop on bringing old technology back to the masses …can’t imagine a Sony Discman sounding anywhere near this good. It also looks cool as an added bonus. Very happy and 100% recommended product

OMG I had a FFio DM13 before this and I thought that was good…but that needed a dac to make it sound brilliant…this doesn’t . It just sound gorgeous just plugged into my headphones which are B+W Ps7 s2 which in my opinion with the cable attached are the perfect partner to this cd player. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fantastic micro CD player

I bought this on a whim really - vinyl is my preferred medium followed by streaming but I still have over 800 CDs some of which don’t exist in the digital domain. Connected via optical out to the ESS Sabre DAC of my Quad 3 amp it’s powering through Tears For Fears’ Seeds Of Love album with "confidence" and "authority". My only minor complaint is the USB C charging requirement and I’m loathed to leave it plugged in, in case it burns the house down 😁. I bought this for the special reduced price of £120 but even at the normal £150 I’d say it’s a bargain if you are looking for a compact and stylish CD player that also sounds great.
