Nin Jiom Pei Pa Koa herbal syrup was originated by Nin Jiom of Beijing in Qing Dynasty. Nin Jiom is deeply rooted in the traditions of Chinese herbs and at the same time committed to using state-of-the-art technology to ensure that all products meet today’s modern requirements and international standards. During the Qing Dynasty, there lived a young provincial commander named Yang Xiaolian. His mother had been suffering from a serious cough and bronchial ailment, and he searched high and low to find a cure. Finally, he met a famous Chinese physician who gave him a secret formula for a cough syrup that helped to cure his mother. Years later, before passing away, Yang Xiaolian’s mother told him to reproduce this magical cough syrup and make it available for everyone. He named it Nin Jiom, which means “in memory of my mother”. From this story came the inspiration for the Nin Jiom logo that stresses the important virtue of filial piety. Thereafter, in order to avoid the escalating war, Yang’s descendants moved across the border to Hong Kong and entrusted the business to Mr. Tse Siu Bong. In 1946, Mr. Tse founded Nin Jiom Medicine Manufactory (Hong Kong) Limited in Hong Kong, prospered the business, then went on to research and develop a wide range of quality products. ## Features - Natural herbal extracts with fruit essence - Refreshes the breath, soothes the throat, and protects the voice with the right mix of gentle herbs - Allows you moisten the throat anytime, anywhere - Offers the best throat protection for busy professionals - Choose from six flavours: Original, Tangerine-Lemon, Super Mint, Ume Plum, Apple-Longan and Lemongrass. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | Asin | B001TYE6H4 | | Country Of Origin | China | | Is Discontinued By Manufacturer | No | | Item Model Number | can-ori | | Manufacturer | Nin Jiom | | Product Dimensions | 7.5 x 7.5 x 2.5 cm; 60 g | ## Product Details - **Brand:** NIN JIOM - **Flavour:** Original - **Item form:** Candy - **Item package quantity:** 1 - **Item weight:** 60 Grams - **Number of items:** 1 - **Occasion:** Birthday - **Package information:** Tin - **Speciality:** Vegetarian - **Unit count:** 60.0 gram ## Images ![Nin Jiom Original Herbal Candy (60g) - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81+W-qQF0LS.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Size Name** options. ## Questions & Answers **Q: Is it sugar free?** A: It is not sugar free. I use these as throat lozenges not as candy. I was introduced to the original syrup years ago when I had a cough that lasted for several days. My supervisor at that time was from Beijing and she brought in a bottle of the syrup for me. It worked like magic and I haven't been without it since. I keep a tin of these lozenges in my purse for emergencies when something hits the wrong spot in the back of my throat causing a coughing spell. They do the trick. **Q: Do they taste like the syrup? How many pieces are in the container?** A: The taste mildly delicious. Approx 20 in a container. **Q: How many come in the tin?** A: 22 to 23 per tin. And they are wonderful. They soothe the throat and stop a cough better than anything I've ever tried. And they are all natural, too. We discovered them when living in Asia and are so thankful they are available in the US on Amazon. **Q: Can I just buy the tangerine flavor?** A: No. You can buy the original as well. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ These work taste great.
