It works very well and thinks for itself when it gets too full or runs out of water. At first my daughter thought you could just leave the ice in it. But if you want one of those, you're going to have to spend a heck of a lot more money. I just empty it into a bucket in the freezer.And after a few minutes, whilst making another load, I'll break the ice up with a knife just so it's easier later.
