Featuring a massive amount of in game choices, including three tiles each of thirty six possible color symbol combinations, Qwirkle is the perfect game to hone player's tactical maneuvers, strategical planning, and forward thinking. With easy to follow rules, Qwirkle is great for younger players. The rules of the game are basic: Simply build lines by matching tiles based on either color or shape, and score points for doing so. However, the ability to build complex combinations will keep children interested and engaged, and challenge them mentally. Qwirkle is a fantastic game for families, as it can involve a wide range of ages, from children to adults. It only takes a few moments to explain, so new players such as extended family or your child's play dates can jump right in and play. Product comes with 4 trays, 108 wooden Qwirkle tiles, 1 drawstring bag, 1 rule book Directions To play Qwirkle, follow these steps: 1. Place the game board on a flat surface. 2. Shuffle the tiles and place them in the drawbag. 3. Each player draws six tiles from the bag to start the game. 4. The player with the most tiles of one color or shape goes first. 5. On your turn, you complete three actions: a. Place one or more tiles in a line of the same color or shape. b. Tally your score: one point is scored for each tile in a line that you create or add to. A single tile can score two points if it is part of two lines. Whenever you complete a line of all 6 colors or shapes, this is a Qwirkle! A Qwirkle scores 12 points, six for the tiles in the lines and six bonus points. c. Draw tiles from the bag to replenish your hand to six. 6. When there are no more tiles to draw, play continues as before, but players do not replenish their hands. 7. The first player to run out of tiles scores six bonus points and ends the game. 8. The player with the highest score wins!

My sister in law introduced us to this game last Christmas and it has become a family favorite. Two out of four in my family were skeptical and not interested at first but once they played a round they were hooked too. It seems complicated at first but the patterns click into place quickly. We have a no tech policy when we are out at the ranch and Quirkle has become one of our favorite pastimes. We had friends with us this past weekend and I have a feeling they are hooked on the game now too. I love that the pieces are made of wood. They are a good size and the bag for holding the pieces is great. It is a simple way to get the brain working, looking for patterns and finding solutions that give you the most points while staying within the rules of the game.
