Most of the early chapters are dedicated to biographies of the experts and their insights into ground-breaking discoveries. The interesting part of the early chapters to me was the tight connections of the science community and their collaboration and disagreements along the way. Relationships and exchange of ideas seemed more vital than I would have imagined, particularly in an area before the internet and ease of collaboration. Do not be frightened off by the topic - it is not heavy with deep physics formulas or sci-fi jargon. The author does a nice job of equating each concept with a real-life example of how examples work.
