If I were to pin point my struggle it is with the symmetry arguments and physical assumptions Griffith’s makes/expects you to make. I don’t think he explains these in detail during the text, and my engineering background has not prepared me well to make these. Perhaps I tried jumping to deep into the subject without having the appropriate prerequisites. I feel mislead by my online research as many people said that vector calculus - which I studied beforehand - is really the only prerequisite. Aside from my struggle, the book is written in a friendly tone, it has nice diagrams, and plenty of problems.
