The ballast went out, no replacement could be ordered. I acquired a 24 inch LED light strip, stripped off the ends, peeled the adhesive back and applied 18” against the light’s metal frame, trimmed off the last 6” and wired it into the Romex home wiring ends. As I mentioned it was a close but not a perfect fit. To avoid a ton of purchases and returns of other similar light diffusers, I applied double sided adhesive tape (3x 1/4 inch pieces against the light’s outer metal frame; and to attach the inner diffuser edge against the frame. The diffuser now easily removes, reinstalls and it stays in place! QUALITY: solid FUNCTION: easy to install, even close fits can work out with minor imagination! The diffuser allowed the light through without dimming it too much FIT: VERY close to original PRICE: Reasonable Review: Exact Replacement for my Yellowing UnderCabinet Light Fixtures! - While slightly more expensive than I originally thought I'd have to spend for replacement lens for my original yellowing undercabinet fluorescent light fixtures in my kitchen, these lens from Coolerguys are actually reasonably priced vs their competitors across the internet. Let me know how to order. samson21@gvtc.com** A: The longest lens of this type that I can provide is 46" **Q: My fixture is 24 1/2 inches. can i cut this to size? what do you recommend to do that? a coping saw?** A: You are opening a bag that you will regret. The 21 inch fixture lighting will cover all of a 24 inch cabinet. I have 5 fixtures and a combination of the nominal 33 and 21 inch. If you are successful in cutting, think about future parts replacement???? Having both fixtures is no problem as the two need both sizes of replacement bulbs. Suggestion look into LED lighting. If I could convert I would do so as we use the under cabinet lighting a lot and replace several bulbs a year. GOOD LUCK **Q: What is your return policy?** A: Yes ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great option for retrofitting! *by H***S on October 1, 2025* This came very close to perfectly fitting a legacy 18 inch fluorescent under cabinet light.
