Different from running trainers in that the sole is relatively rigid and the heel is elevated to help with lifting weights, especially squats and deadlifts. It comes with additional heel inserts if you really struggle with ankle mobility but these will make the shoe feel less secure as they elevate your heel further out of the shoe. If you are looking to use for Crossfit-style workouts then the shoe is ideal. Important to note that for some reason the seller has put the word soccer in there - the shoe is not designed for soccer and I wouldn't recommend for soccer. The sole is rigid and non-slip, similar to a squash or basketball shoe and would not have enough grip for a grass or 4G soccer surface. Add to that the heel point above and the upper construction of synthetic mesh (for breathability) that would not provide any protection to your foot if you actually tried to play soccer in these shoes. Hopefully this helps! This is the only pair I found available in the whole of the internet... Other "womens" nike Metcons were ridiculously ugly - even the new ones like the Metcon 7. Why the womens shoes have to always be pink is beyond me!!!
