I touch up the blades often with just a few strokes, keeping the edges extremely sharp. If you care about your blades, use a proper sharpening stone. This is more of a quick, budget-friendly option. One thing to be aware of: if you press down too hard while using it, you can damage the blade. The packaging even warns about this, and I’ve seen others mention it too—so use a light touch. I picked this up to revive an old vintage Pierre Santini knife set from my parents from the ’60s/'70s that was duller than a butter knife.
