## Description

Fighting a world war is hard enough without a zombie curse. It is 1941, and the world is at war. The Axis war machine is crushing everything in its path, while the Allies are rallying together to mount a heroic stand. And then zombies show up.As the commander of one of the five major powers, you are charged with planning a strategy to win the war. But each battle provides more fresh corpses for the flesh-eating hordes, and the problem is getting out of hand. With your human enemies on one side, and the ravenous undead on the other, it is time to ask yourself, “Do I invest in tanks or chainsaw tanks?”Also includes an 80-card expansion deck for the Axis & Allies 1942 board game!Reviews:“Overall, Axis & Allies & Zombies is such a fun idea we are surprised they didn’t come up with it sooner.” – Starburst“So how does the classic game of World War II strategy hold up with the added weight of the undead? Amazingly well, it turns out. The $40 package provides for hours of entertainment and has tremendous replay potential… Axis & Allies & Zombies comes highly recommended. It’s simply a tremendous value and a novel new engine for generating alternate history at the table.” – Polygon“Axis & Allies & Zombies offers an incredible entry point to the genre and the series for new fans, compelling and interesting mechanics for experienced players, and a fantastic way to introduce this storied series of games to a brand new audience.” – Geek & Sundry “Wizards of the Coast and Avalon Hill have taken the classic 10-hour standoff classic known as Axis & Allies and modified it with a taste of revisionist history to ask the question, “What if zombies were around during World War II?” What we get is probably one of the most interesting versions of the game I have played in my life.” – Bleeding Cool

Review: A Creative and Fun Addition to the Axis and Allies Family - Some die hard AA players didn't like the zombie idea when this game was first announced. Oh well, you can't please everybody. Zombies are a legitimate fantasy element and are thematically consistent with a global war/battlefield setting. As a long time AA player I'm happy to say that Axis and Allies and Zombies is a fun game and a worthy addition to the Axis and Allies family. So if you are at all interested in adding a horror/fantasy element into your wargaming, this game should fit the bill. This AA version is on the simpler side in accordance with its more lighthearted zombie theme. But the game is very affordable and you get a lot of pieces and units for the price you pay. Other reviewers say you can't set up Germany all the way with the included units. This is incorrect, the game comes with (barely) enough pieces to do the complete set up. You might find yourself running short of plastic units if your army gets too big and expansive but this is easily solved with extra markers or pieces of paper or something else to keep track of the units. And of course, to increase the quantity of units included in the game will increase the cost of the game, which will make it less accessible to players and goes against the intended nature of the game as being a more affordable AA option. The zombie mechanic works well and the card deck keeps the action coming fast. The game takes less time to complete than most other AA titles which I think is a good thing. We have enough 10+ hour AA versions available right now, and this one can be completed in 2 - 4 hours if you are familiar with the rules and keep the pace moving.
Review: Friends and Family will love it! - Awesome take on the typical Axis & Allies strategy with the introduction of the zombie twist. Bought this for my brother (14yrs old) for his birthday and loved it. Family ended up playing twice (they never touched or wanted to play Axis & Allies: 2nd annversary edition) and enjoyed the game due to its friendly easy to learn rules and simplified rules of the original A&A games. Even brought the game to friends who never played A&A game before and ended up playing it twice within one day! Con: Game comes with a small amount of military pieces, so best bet is if you have another A&A game is to provide some pieces to zombie game.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Anyone else missing US Infanty for set up?**
A: I'm missing several infantry and some tanks, too

**Q: What size (mm) are the models? Are they standard 25mm size?**
A: The ships, planes and tanks are definitely much smaller than 25mm, with no common scale between them. The infantry is not scaled to any particular size that is advertised. I _estimate_ that they're _roughly_1/72.

**Q: 1941 and 1942 included?**
A: Axis & Allies & Zombies can be used effectively as a replacement for Axis & Allies 1941. Like that game it has fewer pieces and a smaller board with fewer territories on it, but nowhere near as few as 1941. It also has a few more pieces for each side than 1941 and it brings back the paper money (missing from both 1941 and 1942). So if you're thinking about buying 1941 I'd say don't bother and buy this instead, as it's not as barebones as 1941 whilst still being a more streamlined and simplified game (no cruisers, AA or ability to build factories, for example). You can either play the game "straight" or with the zombie cards and figures. The game also has a separate card deck to allow you to play Axis & Allies 1942 with the zombie rules as well (you'll need to add the figures from this game to 1942 though).

**Q: Why are the British a different color than last time?**
A: They tend to change the colors sometimes in certain versions of the game, maybe its because they want the zombies to stick out more in this one

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ What's better than Axis and Allies, well...Axis and Allies and Zombies of course!
*by J***N on June 3, 2022*

I've just got into Axis and Allies. I've been a WWII gaming enthusiast since the late 1970's and have enjoyed may of Avalon HIll's bookcase games over the years. So when I learned about Axis and Allies I picked up one of the versions and really enjoy the game play. It's pretty easy to pick up, the game mechanics are fun. And It's an enjoyable way to kill some time with friends. Then I saw Axis and Allies and Zombies and had to give it a try. The one criticism is that you really don't get enough of the miniature figures but I have a 3D printer so that's no big deal for me. But depending on your game you may run out of game miniatures. The Zombies add a fun element to the game when you just want to play something that's a bit of ridiculous fun.
