It would intermittently work and then not work. It had been back to the supplier but each time they could not find a fault. Just like having toothache and then going to the dentist. I decided to purchase this unit to replace the peizo igniter. I needed to widen the mounting hole, which took all of 2 seconds with a cone drill. The original electrode prob connections was exactly the same connectors. So just pushed on without any effort. The whole job was done is no more than 5 minutes. Button is slightly bigger that the peizo button. But the operation is a 1000 times betters and a lot less noisy. All we will do is at the start of each season simply replace the AA battery and it will be good for a full season. Operation is simple Turn the gas on and press the button on the igniter with one press until the burner lights. It works perfect every time. One word of advise. Do not be tempted to try/test the operation of the unit until its connected - it packs a real kick. I drilled three holes in the hob, fitted this and now the burners ignite easily. You need to bend & trim the electrodes, taking care not to break the ceramic insulator - but it's easy enough with two pairs of pliars.
