Review: Excellent book. - I have many art instruction books written by Christopher Hart. I've been drawing around a year and half. What I really like about this book is clear instruction, and information provided that is not in some of the other books. All of the books have instruction, but I like the tips regarding hands and proper placement of eyes and mouths... and postures. The girl I drew, I colored with pencils, not markers... I also like the tips given regarding correct shadow placement. There is also a very nice section about constructing rooms... I'd certainly purchase the book again. I recommend it highly. I think a lot comes down to studying the books & practicing often. I would recommend the book for a beginner... (I still am a beginner...lol) .

I have many art instruction books written by Christopher Hart. I've been drawing around a year and half. What I really like about this book is clear instruction, and information provided that is not in some of the other books. All of the books have instruction, but I like the tips regarding hands and proper placement of eyes and mouths... and postures. The girl I drew, I colored with pencils, not markers... I also like the tips given regarding correct shadow placement. There is also a very nice section about constructing rooms... I'd certainly purchase the book again. I recommend it highly. I think a lot comes down to studying the books & practicing often. I would recommend the book for a beginner... (I still am a beginner...lol) .
