Review: It's DEI Heat sheath - great stuff but expensive - Look, when you need this stuff, it's worth the price. It works, and does the job of protecting the wires or hoses it's supposed to. I think it's a bit expensive, but you buy this for reliable protection, and that's what you get. Sure, there are off brand stuff similar, but I paid for the peace of mind DEI provides. Used to protect 1/0 starter cable on my LS truck motor from header heat.

**Q: How is this sleeve measured? Are the listed sizes diameters or are they the measurements of the sleeve when layed flat?**
A: Actually, the perimeter of a 3/4" diameter pipe is 2-3/8".

**Q: Will the 1.5 inch sleeve fit over a 1.5 inch radiator hose, or will it be too snug?**
A: if the radiator hose is truly a 1.5" o.d and straight then yes it will fit, but if the hose expands as rubber does, then it will be greater than 1.5" and it may split the sleeve,  If it is a curved hose then it will be greater than 1.5" o.d. in portions and the sleeve will not fit.  You would not want to put this on a radiator hose as it would trap heat and not allow the radiator hose to radiate and dissipate heat properly.  If the hose is not carrying hot water but merely used as a drain hose, then this is fine.  This it meant to protect from radiant heat but also retains heat internally which could cause your rubber hose to fail prematurely and due to being obscured by the wrap you could not inspect the hose for sponginess, cracking or impending failure.  Basically, not a good idea for that purpose.

**Q: What is the inside diameter**
A: The product is in a roll.  The diameter is what ever you make it.

**Q: Can this be used on the egr valve tube**
A: Yes, the Design Engineering 010418 Heat Sheath can be used on the EGR valve tube. The inner diameter of the heat sheath is 0.5 inches, which is larger than the inner diameter of most EGR valve tubes (typically 0.4 inches). This means that the heat sheath will fit snugly over the EGR valve tube and provide protection from heat.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fixed my vapor lock issues

I used this heat sleeve to cover metal fuel line in my classic car that was having some vapor lock issues. This along with some custom-made shields for the fuel pump seem to fix my issue. Great product and brand-name, would buy again if needed.
