This device is designed to extract audio signals from the HDMI eARC/ARC port on your TV and convert to different audio signal output such as optics, stereo RCA R/L, 3.5mm headphones, audio, etc. This allows you to connect a TV with HDMI eARC/ARC port to various types of sound systems, allowing you to enjoy better audio quality while watching TV. This eARC audio converter is also compatible with TV with ARC function.

Needed this as a new TV that I purchased only has an HDMI and HDMI eArc ports on it along with a USB-a port. The TV is smaller size as I'm space constrained as to where it has to be placed hence the lack of ports. But this allows me to feed the small sound bar and an optical run to the stereo system. It's pretty small and not that expensive. Well worth it.

- RCA and 3.5mm headphone output volume can be controlled by the remote control (CEC) on your TV. The volume of the optical interface and HDMI interface cannot be used
- Support eARC and ARC input (Connect to the HDMI port on TV marked "eARC"! /ARC); HDMI, Fiber Optics, RCA, 3.5mm Headphone Output (HDMI only transmits audio signal, no picture);
- When the 2.0 indicator light is on, the audio signal output from the TV is PCM stereo, HDMI interface, fiber optic interface, RCA interface and 3.5mm interface all output stereo audio
- When the 5.1 indicator light is on, the audio signal output from the TV will output 5.1 channels (such as DTS, AC3), HDMI interface and fiber optic interface output 5.1 channels audio, which indicates that RCA interface and 3.5mm interface do not have audio output
- If you use RCA or 3.5mm, please set your TV to PCM output. If the 5.1 indicator light or HD5.1/HD7.1 indicator light is on, there is no audio output from RCA, 3.5mm interface

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Does what it's supposed to do.

This device is doing just what I needed. Recently, in discussion with the very helpful salesman at Best Buy, I learned that none of the new TVs have analog audio output jacks any more. I use my TV with sound output connected to a stereo this way. I got a new Samsung TV and therefore needed an audio extractor. At first I tried an optical converter but found that the volume and mute controls on the TV remote did not function this way, and I didn't want to use multiple remotes. I purchased this sound extractor, connected an HDMI cable from the eArc output of the TV to the input of this device, and the RCA audio cables from the stereo to the device outputs. The next step was to set up eArc on the TV, which required 2 steps. First I set the sound output to eArc but did not get any sound. There is another setting where I needed to enable eArc. And that's it. I have TV sound from my stereo and control volume and mute with the TV remote.
