## Description

Product Description

Review: Great compact bag - Bought to carry my Embrel injections inflight. Used it once already, the bag is quite compact and fit in my travel bag, however, once the cold packs are inserted, the space is quite a tight fit for the injection pens. The best feature for me was the outside thermometer, brilliant to check every now and then if you are a bit paranoid like me. The inner temperature stayed below 8 for at least 12 hours, and it passed airport security without problems (I actually forgot to mention it completely!) Update to advise that if you pass it through airport security, you must take it out of your bag and tell them in advance. At Stansted airport I forgot to tell them and a security alert was put out because the thermometer wires look very suspicious on the screen. My saving grace was that a member of security googled the brand and recognised the ‘device’. I gave them a bit of a fright…
Review: Indispensable - This is a great product. Keeps meds cool for at least 12 hours, which comes in handy for travelling as it will make it through most journeys. It also comes with a hotel card to keep the electricity running (it works). Just make sure you take out the ice packs an hour before putting them in, and ensure the temperature is stable above 0 Celsius, before storing the pens. The only fault is that some bigger pens will not fit easily, but the elastic bands can be stretched enough. Definitely would buy it again.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does anyone know if this bag would hold 4 tocilizumab pre filled pens. Thanks in advance .**
A: It holds 4 Adalimumab pre-filled pens. Not sure what tocilizumab is. Went on world tour last year & found the bag to work excellently. All Airlines very helpful & some stored in their fridge for extra re-assurance but ice packs easily lasted long haul flight. Would highly recommend it. Hope this helps. Regards Barbara

**Q: How to control the min temperature? With two cold packs and two buffer packs, first 12 hours the temperature is between -2 and +2. I need it over 2**
A: Leave the frozen cold packs on your kitchen counter until they develop a frosty condensation - approx.20-30 minutes. Put the unfrozen buffer pads on top of each cold pack and slide them into the pockets of the bag and zip the bag closed. After a few minutes check the temperature of the thermometer - if it shows 0 degrees C your medication is safe to put inside because your medication is at 4 degrees when it comes out of the fridge. The cold pack temp. will slowly continue to climb and the medication temp. will start to drop. The 2 temps. meet at 2 degrees and from then onwards the bag has stabilised and the thermometer reading will reflect the temp of both the medication and the bag. The unfrozen buffer pads, if positioned on top of the frozen cold packs, absorb the initial excess cold and protect your medication from dropping below 2 degrees. If your fridge is colder than 4 degrees, then leave the frozen cold packs out a bit longer and place the medication in the bag once the thermometer shows 1 degree. Each fridge is a bit different so you'll have to work out how much time is necessary before the medication can safely go into the bag. The thermometer is there to help you as are the buffer pads but generally speaking, if the medication is at 4 degrees and the bag at zero then the medication can go into the bag without dropping below 2 degrees - you needn't wait until the temp. shows 2 degrees as you already have 2 degrees by which your medication can safely drop by (as it comes out of the fridge at 4 degrees). Hope this helps - do get in touch if you've any more questions.

**Q: Temperature of bag is consistently around 0, even after keeping gel packs out for 30 mins - any tips on how to resolve this ?**
A: Leave the frozen packs out on the kitchen worktop for an extra 10-30 minutes and then place them in the bag together with the medication pens. Zip the bag closed and wait for the thermometer to stabilise at 1.5°C or higher.

NB: Ensure that when you close the bag to check the thermometer, that you have included the pens in the bag otherwise the thermometer will show a much colder temperature due to the frozen packs being sandwiched up close against the sensitive thermometer probe. Having the pens in the bag lifts the cold packs from being against the probe. Your medication won't freeze in the couple of minutes it takes for the thermometer to settle. If the thermometer is still below 1.5°C, remove the cold packs for a few more minutes and place your medication back in the fridge.

An exact time for the cold packs to be left out the bag before being used cannot be stated since the temperature to which they are frozen to, and the ambient temp of the home, both affect how long they will need to wait before going into the bag. Some freezers freeze to a lower temp than other freezers with a range of between -16°C to -24°C. And naturally the warmer the ambient temp, the quicker the cold packs will take to discharge that initial intense cold before being ready to use. It's a bit fiddly but once you've worked out how long it takes for your cold packs to be left out it becomes much easier for future usage.

**Q: Will this case fit 1 thick pen Cimzia injection?**
A: If the pictures of a cimzia injection are similar as yours then yes. As an adamilumab self injection can fit in the holder

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Medigenix cool bag.
*by M***N on 10 December 2016*

Compact and does the job. On longer flights airlines were happy to put it in their fridge. Have never been queried during hand luggage security. (Always take a letter from Dr with me explaining what i'm carrying)
