They are really good quality, with thick, sturdy, colorful magnets. We got the animal one and the random shapes one for our 2.5 and 4 year olds, and they are amazing. Our 4 year old finds the animal one extremely easy, so she rarely does that one (although it is well suited for the 2.5 year old). It took the 4 year old a few weeks to figure out the random shapes one (I had to help scaffold how to find the right pieces and place them in the right arrangement), but once she got the hang of it, she's become very creative with it, and it keeps her focused for a long time. My only complaint is that the container that holds the magnets in the base is a weird fit, and pieces are always slipping under the lip or into the sides. This never makes the pieces fall out or get lost, just difficult to get out, especially for a toddler, which is annoying. But that's minor compared to all the pros of these magnet books!
