The shoe is secure on my foot, but not tight anywhere. I like that the closure is velcro - if you close it properly, it is discrete. I would say that these run true-to-size. These are really cute and the toebox is wide enough that the shoe does not pinch. The strap is adjustable with velcro, so they don't slip on my foot. I'm so glad I finally found a pair that I can wear and not look like I'm wearing an orthopedic shoe. The insole is removable, so I can insert an orthotic if I wish to. The cranberry is a fun color...it does have a bit of a violet hue to it, rather than a true dark red/cranberry color, but I still like them. They fit true to size.
