I did wipe him down and look down at the wipe and see dirt so these do clean and groom well. I do think they are over scented and could find a better formula to clean better. She goes to doggie daycare twice a week and was coming home smelling like the 25 other dogs she played with. These do work and work well. They pulled a significant amount of dirt from her coat and paws although I had to use several of them. The smell is mild enough not to be overpowering but subtle enough that she smelled good after using them. As other reviewer stated they are small in size and they are difficult to get just one out of the container. Hence the 4 stars. Otherwise I would have given them a 5 star review. I do recommend them though.
